DOC to TXT Converter FAQs
You would convert a DOC file to a TXT file to extract only the raw text content. This is extremely useful when you need a clean, unformatted version of your text to paste into a web form, use in a code editor, or import into another application without carrying over any conflicting formatting or styles.
You should expect to lose everything except for the text characters and basic paragraph breaks. All visual formatting, such as bold, italics, fonts, colors, and text alignment, will be removed. Furthermore, all non-text elements like images, tables, headers, and footers will be completely discarded.
The text content from your tables will be extracted, but the visual grid structure will be lost. The text from each cell is typically laid out one after another, often separated by tabs or spaces. This can make the data from a complex table very difficult to read and understand in the final plain text file.
All images, charts, and other graphical elements are completely removed during the conversion to the TXT format. A plain text file can only store character data (letters, numbers, and symbols), so any visual media contained in your original DOC file is permanently discarded from the output.
No, you cannot. Once all the formatting, images, and layout information are stripped away to create the plain TXT file, that data is gone forever. Converting that TXT file back to a DOC will only result in a new Word document that contains the exact same unformatted text.
