Convertig is a free, browser-based file conversion service that lets you convert files between hundreds of formats — including images, video, audio, documents, archives, and ebooks — with no software to install and no account required.
Just upload your file (or paste a URL), select your target format, and download the result. Conversions happen on our secure servers, so even low-powered devices can convert large files without breaking a sweat.
Yes — completely free. There are no hidden fees, no premium plans, no conversion limits, and no credit card required. We keep the lights on through non-intrusive advertising.
No. Convertig works entirely in your browser — no app, plugin, or extension needed. As long as you have an internet connection and a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), you're good to go.
Yes. Convertig is fully responsive and works smoothly on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. The upload and download experience is optimised for touch screens, so mobile users can convert files just as easily as desktop users.
Most conversions complete in a matter of seconds. Speed depends on a few factors: the size of your source file, the complexity of the format, and current server load. Simple image conversions (e.g. JPG → PNG) are nearly instant, while large video files can take a bit longer.

Yes — the maximum upload size is 200 MB per file, with up to 8 files per batch. If your file exceeds these limits, consider compressing it first or splitting it into smaller parts before uploading.
Yes! You can upload up to 8 files in a single batch and convert them all to the same target format in one go. Just drag and drop multiple files onto the upload area, or hold Ctrl / ⌘ while selecting files.
Yes. In addition to uploading from your device, you can:
- From URL — paste a direct link to any publicly accessible file and we'll fetch it server-side
- Dropbox — connect your Dropbox and pick files directly from your account
- Google Drive — browse and select files straight from Google Drive
Privacy & Security
Yes. Your files are uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection, processed in an isolated environment on our secure servers, and then automatically deleted. We do not inspect, read, share, or sell any content from files you upload.
Both the uploaded source file and the converted output are deleted automatically from our servers within approximately 1 hour of the conversion completing. We do not keep backups of your files, so once deleted they cannot be recovered.
We recommend downloading your converted file immediately after it becomes available.
No. We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the Service. We collect only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (page views, browser type) and we never sell data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. All pages on Convertig.com are served over HTTPS (TLS encryption), so your uploads, downloads, and all other data are encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.
Quality & Output
We aim to preserve the highest possible quality in every conversion. For lossless formats (PNG, FLAC, WAV) quality is identical to the source. For lossy formats (JPG, MP3, MP4), a small amount of re-encoding is involved, but we use high-quality defaults to minimise any visible or audible difference.
Some conversions (e.g. PDF → DOCX) are inherently imperfect due to format differences — always review the output before using it in production.
Yes. Many converters offer optional settings such as image resolution, video bitrate, audio sample rate, and document layout. After selecting your output format, look for the Options panel to adjust these before starting the conversion.
A failed conversion can sometimes happen if the source file is corrupted, password-protected, or in an unexpected variant of its format. Try these steps:
- Check that the source file opens correctly on your device
- Make sure the file isn't password-protected or DRM-locked
- Try a different output format
- Re-upload and try again (temporary server issues do occasionally occur)

You can reach us via the contact form on our website. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24–48 hours on business days. For bug reports, please include the file type you were trying to convert and a brief description of what went wrong — it helps us fix things faster.
Yes. You are welcome to use Convertig for personal and commercial purposes within the scope of our Terms of Use. We only ask that you don't automate large volumes of conversions using scripts without prior permission, as this can affect the experience for other users.
